The short version: Quilt reads where your windows are, never what is in them. It uses the internet only to check your license and, once updates are available, to look for updates. This website uses no cookies and no analytics.

1. Who is responsible

2. The Quilt app

What it reads on your Mac. The position and size of your windows and the name of the app each one belongs to. The position of your mouse and clicks near window edges, so it can tell a drag from a resize. The keyboard shortcuts you set, which it registers with macOS. It does not log keystrokes, and it does not read window contents, screenshots, files or what you type.

What stays on your Mac. Your layouts, settings and per-app exclusions. Your license and trial status are kept in your macOS Keychain.

What leaves your Mac. When you activate, check or deactivate a license, Quilt sends your license key and the information needed to confirm that the license is valid and where it is activated, for example an identifier for your Mac and the app version. When updates are available, update checks send the app version and the basic system information the update service needs. Nothing about your windows or apps is sent.

3. This website

• It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
• Its fonts, images and video are served from this site. It does not load scripts, fonts or media from other companies.
• Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, to deliver and protect the site.
• The walkthrough film is served from this site, not from a third-party video service.

4. Buying Quilt

Checkout is handled by Dodo Payments. They collect your payment details, name, email and billing country, and deal with tax. They send us the order details we need to give you your license, such as your email address, license key, order and country. We never receive your full card number. Their privacy policy covers what they do with your data. We use your email to send your license, receipts and support replies. We send marketing only if you ask for it.

5. Why we use information

• To deliver and check licenses (to perform our contract with you).
• To keep records for tax and accounting (a legal obligation).
• To answer support requests (to perform our contract and our legitimate interest in helping customers).
• To keep Quilt and this website secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests).

6. How long we keep it

License and order records are kept as long as the license is active and for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support emails are kept no longer than needed to help you and to keep a record of what we told you.

7. Who we share it with

Our payment provider, our hosting provider, our license service, our email provider and professional advisers, and authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

8. Transfers abroad

Our providers may process information outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. You can withdraw consent you gave us at any time. You can complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in California law. Quilt is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure.
